True, but one must take into account that oils are constantly being reformulated and levels of zinc and phosphourus are changing. Oil companies can (and do) make changes 'between' the rolling of the API or diesel specs--So a SL,SM, CI or CJ oil that tests ok today may not have the same levels next month. Its a real risk that is part of the problem. I would not however, include some brands such as Brad Penn, Redline, Amsoil etc that are specifically marketed to us and the zinc issue discussed within their marketing programs.
