I agree the Hemi is not the best tow setup. Made me miss the old 5.9 gasser when towing an OPEN TRAILER, a larger enclosed?

If whatever Hemi you were driving made you miss a 5.9 gasser, there must have been a problem with it.

In addition to what is being towed, how often, how far and what altitude, daily and other weekend/occasional uses should also be considered.

Commute time and distance, off road use, contemplated modifications, even diesel availability can all factor in to what might work most reasonably.

Once every month or two towing under around 8K pounds, a 2500 Hemi might be a better option. Particularly if you can find one with 4.10 or 4.56 (Power Wagon) gears. The Hemi leaves you with more GVW, is easier on the front suspension, lighter off road, and does not mind a five minute commute.

Jeepmon has a good comparison, but I think he might still be in the honeymoon phase on his 6.7.
