get a stock thermo clutch fan from napa or parts store of your choice

I bumped my 5 blade fan up to a 7 blade fan from a mid 80s AMC Hornet

make sure you got the right size pully on the water pump also

in my case I removed the A/C and cond.from the truck

got a new clutch, added the 7 blade fan, replaced the rad with a 3 core max cooling replacement

put a non A/C water pump pully and a wp with 8 vanes on the pump

the larger pully turns slow at idle so the 8 vane wp moves more water at idle

an A/C pully is smaller and turns faster at idle so the 6 vane wp will move more water at idle

with a sm wp pully and 8 vane pump you "could have cavatation at the water pump and cause damage" at high rpms

a good high flow thermo "robert shaw" type is a good help in controling flow and temps

and a good rad cap is something most need

the carb and timming can heat it up at cruz speeds also,so check you tune also
