So is that the definate answer for fan placement as i have always wondered what was the best. I thought as close to the radiator as possible, but it seems not.
Yes, half in and half out of the opening edge of the fan shroud opening. That came from an engineer at a radiator manufacturer.
Also the diameter of the opening should be 10% the diameter of the fan.
