Well, thats sort of a loaded question. Chrome is more durable, but if and when you scratch it, or it pits. you're screwed. You cant buff or polish a scratch out. On the other hand, Aluminum will scratch and dull relatively easily, but you can polish out very easily.
Aluminum takes more maintenance, but you can fix it.
Chrome is less maintenance, but if something happens.....
