I would pass on the Nason and use Dupont Centari with their hardner .
You get a much more original look with single stage acrylic .

I'm sure it has served you well and held up just fine. But I don't understand why anyone would use Centari today when doing a complete on a show car. Don't get me wrong, it was considered good paint once upon a time. If you want a single stage appearance, a modern urethane would be far superior.

To the OP, talk to your painter again about what he likes to spray and what your expecations are. Whether it's base/clear or SS, you can wet sand and buff it to glass if you choose. Base/clear is easier to repair and blend if you need to do that down the road. Compare the cost on the materials between the two systems as well. Both will look great.

It is not always as easy as saying, "Use this paint manufacturer and this code." It may need to be color adjusted to get what you want. If the painter is mixing it, have him do a spray out panel so you can see what you're getting. If the paint jobber is mixing, have them do the test panel before you commit.
