They really don't have to be all that tight Just apply some good pipe joint sealer to the threads and some slight pressure with slip joint pliers With a hose hooked to it where is it going to go? I have been a professional technician for over 30 years and the most common mistake I see is people OVER tightening fittings and fasteners.
