intake gaskets are APITA sometimes to get it to seal on an intake R&R.

does any water trace show up in the oil, crankcase, dipstick or tube?

the intake bolts only torque to 144 inch pounds which = only 6 foot pounds on the wimpy bolts.

you just cant torque down on the bolts like an old LA intake when the gasket would weep.

I had to do it 3x when I fixed the plenum pan gasket. by the way,is your plenum gasket leaking? maybe time for a intake R&R with all new gaskets.

Ummmm, 144in/lbs is 12 ft/lbs not 6.

Maybe thats why you had to do it 3 times - only half the spec'ed torque and clamping force.

DOH! i stand corrected. it is indeed 12 foot pounds. I had it right on the torque wrench when I did it.

I used a 3/8 drive torque wrench first 2x at 6 and 12 foot pounds. last time I used a 1/4 drive torque wrench and did the 72 inch pounds and 144 inch pounds to get it right.

it was my first magnum intake R&R and I could not get past how light the spec was compaired to 20 yrs of LA intakes that I on.

the right tool in the monkeys hand does help to get it right now and then.
