Thanks for the info guys. It wasn't my car so I can't check it all out now as well as I'd like. I decoded the fender tag (took a pic of it when I bought the motor) and it says '68. The owner said it was titled as a 67 and when I saw the '67 casting date I assumed he was correct.

I'm still having a little trouble with the block ID pad as it seems a little different than the pictures/decoding diagrams I'm seeing. I'll try to take a picture of it tomorrow, but it looks like this:

...but the A is off to the far right side and stamped sideways. That's it.
