Eh...I was in College..never took any body courses. I had a Mig and Argon sitting in the garage, I didn't know how to arc. For the prep...I stripped down the panel to bare metal 2" on the perimeter on top and bottom. Primer coated it with a rattle can...Welded it in place, welded the cross frame underneath, sprayed the weld-to-primer solution. Spot welds first then went through and ran longer beads. When I was done I took MAPP gas and hit the "bouncy" parts with the flame and then poured ice cold water in to pull the metal together. Put Eastwood seam sealer on the whole whole thing. Raised the car up and sprayed Wesley's undercoating over the Eastwood Seamsealer and PPG'd everything else underneath. A vinyl mat sat over the trunk panels so no one saw the ribbing ...remember...college budget...Looking back...I would probably do it the same way again.
