There is a '60s Prestolite ignition box on the 'bay for over $400. It is claimed to be NOS for a Hemi race car.

I stumbled across an identical used box at a swap meet and it has no numbers on it. It is somewhere in my junk bin. Were these boxes used for other cars? Were they sold aftermarket? I have seen a picture of the exact same box in a 1976 edition of "how to hop up up smallblock chevies" by Fischer and Waar.
For yers I thought they were for racing corvettes.

So, can someone help me out here? Is there a reliable history for these boxes?
