I know of 2 challenger going back into the shop this winter to have the fuel filler area replaced.




Here is an example of the problem fuel door area. This is a car we took on after body and paint had been done elsewhere. The flip-top base would not even fit into the hole on the reproduction 1/4 another shop had installed. The mounting flange area was too small and the outer edge was beveled on the reproduction. It should be more like a 90 degree turn in.
I cut a section from an original and grafted it in.

Another give-away of a reproduction 1/4 (besides the wheel opening) is the horizontal body line. On the originals it very slightly curves downwards and then up towards the door. The reproductions I've seen are a straight diagonal line with no curvature.
