It is not unusual for people who have purchased aftermarket tubular upper control arms to see a difference in size from the factory piece, and it is not uncommon to see postings like this. Right or wrong, the "it's only a 2% difference" attitude seems to be common among those who produce these parts. Without picking sides, let me observe that the typical solution for this dilemma is to manhandle/force it into place. Down to just a blue car now.
