They will fit, but the 72 doors have a fixted upper door frame and the 73-up will have a removable plastic UDF. There may be other differences, I personally would just stick with 73-up, but also be aware the door glass mounting is different every year 73, 74, and 75/6.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.
