i got a 440 block from a friend looking to build a street stroker
should i use the block or invest in a new block
using pro comp heads small solid aprox 600 lift cam don't want to waste money
looking for a good machine shop around st.louis

Costs vary dramatically from location to location. Some shops in rural areas would probably do that work for around 350 bucks.. Not around here.

Whatever you do, invest in a sonic test before investing anything in that block.. If the machinist tries to talk you out of it find another shop. If the block is pretty thin, then dont use it or save/sell it for a resto motor.
