I went to the hardware store and bought some clear vinyl tubing, slit it down one side and applied it to the chrome trim on the side of the seat where the belt rubs. The trim has some very sharp edges and this should help to prevent the belt webbing from getting frayed from constant use. Looking in the car with the door open, you can barely tell it's there.




This is what it looks like after the new interior was installed.



So far, I've retrofitted these belts into a '39 Pontiac, '54 Chevy, '28 Ford Model A, '70 Mustang and my Charger. It's a relatively easy upgrade that I think is important. Hope it helps someone.
