Coming from a small block build, it will cost almost the same as any BB or SB build. There is no premium on the parts and the cylinder heads will be a better value. Stroker kits cost the same and the swap hardware isn't expensive.
In an A-body it will take some work to get power steering and air conditioning to work, but it can be done.
For about $2k, plus $500-1000 in cores you will have a 360cfm set of heads. From what I've seen it takes exotic rocker gear and a seriously ported head to match that.
The breaker will be if you want EFI most options run about $1500 and up.
If you've already got a good carb, the ignition controller will be about $600.
