This is all seat of the pants stuff, installed in a 5.7 truck engine with cnc heads, long tube headers etc:

I feel the gen 3 engines are inherently weak below 3000 rpm in stock form, and the Comp 273 seems to enhance what comes naturally to the engine.

In other words, it makes it even weaker below 3000, gives it a nice musclecar-sounding idle quality, and helps it pull harder 4000rpm and up. It's a screamer and will like compression, gear and converter thrown at it.
