---EDITED to add information about fender well----

Help
I've look at several posts on this issue but have not found the answer.

I have a 70 Challenger 440 with Edelbrock Performer Heads (angled plugs). I'm using Doug's Headers for my exhaust system (large primaries) and with the exception of notching a small corner of my scatter shield, I haven't had fitting issues or have to make many modifications.

This is a 6-pack car and it was running a little rich and ended up fouling the plugs. During the process of removing the plugs and sandblasting the tips, I found out that cylinders 1 & 2 are a problem. If you put a deep-well socket on the spark plug there just isn't room for the ratchet (there isn't enough room for the socket and the ratchet because it hits the inner fender.... If you put the socket on first, you can't fit the ratchet between the fender well and the socket.) I was finally able the # 1 plug out but the # 2 plug still has not been changed.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so how was it resolved ?

Seem like my only way out is to make a special tool or remove the motor mounts and push the engine over.

Listening to any advise.....

Thanks
Mike
