Hi all

I'm trying to help a buddy figure out his shifting issues. Here is the skinny he has a really cool 37 Plymouth truck with a 440 with a moderately built 727 in it.

The issue is it shifts from first to third really quickly like 0 miles an hour to maybe 25. I looked at his linkage and it appears adjusted right, however it is an old style linkage instead of the three piece unit typical of mopar muscle cars, this is one long piece of metal that hooks to the bar underneath.

I looked it over and it appeared that linkage was fully engaged when shifting so I'm pretty sure it is not out of adjustment, however since I'm not familiar with this one piece unit I'm not sure.

Any pointers guys?
