Supposed to have light contact. Just off the drum in itself will cause the drum to lock up when it suddenly hits the drum. The rears are supposed to lock up first. So you can still steer. Once lock up accurs you should let off. Pump the brakes when in a panic stop situation. Anti lock brakes came about because people panic and lock em up. This leaves no control of the vehicle.
