I`ve always set the oil expander gap at one end of the wrist pin then stagger the top and bottom oil rails about 1 1/2 inches on either side of the gap and let er rip. The directions say to put the expander gap at the wrist pin but the show the oil rails on the OPPOSITE side of the piston NOT the same side as I`ve done for years.




most builders i know have their own thoughts and ways of doing things. (including me) if you follow the directions for all ring gaps, you won't go wrong.
