So, as you can see, they varied from the factory, may have been two venders with two different methods of metal wash/plating, I can't say, but they definately varied. Also, age and humidity etc. can alter the finish, I believe this is why some look darker/muddier than others.

I strip them and recolor them similar to how a Holley carb body is refinished, this is what they look like when done. It's pretty darn close to the second OEM example. I don't know of any other method to get them closer. Cost is under $100.00 a pair.
