Just a note to anyone out there wanting to run true HID with ballasts on their Pre-69 hideaway headlight cars.

You need to modify the linkage from the actuator. Cut it, and lengthen the distance on the loop for the linkage. I have the H4 conversion. But when you add the HID conversion kit, the base of the bulb hits the linkage. I have to remove the grille in order to gain access to mine and I am currently not prepared to do that. I even have to move my Hi/Lo headlights to the INSIDE while I relocate the HI to the outside. I think I will get a better wider beam hitting the road. I hardly use the Hi/Lo beams but those will be upgraded to H4 as well so there is uniformity at the headlights and the light output.
