A highlight of the SS/AM rules, The car would have to be a back half car as per Super Stock rules, only fiberglass permitted is the hood.
Engine mods are pretty much open within the rules with two approved four barrel carbs, after market recip. assy. and heads allowed.
AM - 7.50 to 8.49 pounds per cubic inch; 2,650-pound minimum (Did not look up the class guides to see actual weight break for the Duster)
Auto trans. must be OEM or NHRA accepted maximum of 3 forward speeds. Manual trans (after market) permitted (min-3/max-5 forward speeds)
All gear changes must result from driver action (pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, etc shifters prohibited). Clutchless trannies are permitted.
Chassis must be built around existing OEM body and must retain OEM upper framerails in front of firewall. Allowed non-OEM control arm placement. Use of adjustable heim joints prohibited.
Must retain stock wheelbase +/- ¾”
Dash must remain as OEM but may be removable
Must retain full factory type upholstery including factory type carpet, door panels and headliner.
Stock floor mandatory.
Hood is only fiberglass permitted, allowed one scoop w/single opening affixed to hood.
