This stuff happens. Sometimes at the track, but seems to occur at the hotels more often.

I try to never take my rig to a hotel. But if you have to, at least:

separate the truck from the trailer,
remove the tow ball,
put your tongue lock on and,
block the trailer in with the truck.

Same goes at the track, I even bought a wheel boot lock for my enclosed trailer. I installed it first thing at any track I was at for a weekend long event.

Too late for these guys, but do the little things so it never happens to you..........
