I'm sure this question has been asked before. How much power can a Doug Nash 4 + 1 pro/slick shifted trans handle? Is it capable of handling 700-800 ft.lbs. of torque at the flywheel?
I would say no, but there are a lot of variables. Weight of the car is a big factor. Some of the DN have a center support bearing which makes them better, you can also have them sent off to have the shafts handcuffed together. The biggest problem that I found with the DN is that under a lot of power the counter shaft seperates and then you have gears breaking. A good clutch will help the trans live.
