Might be too risky given the value of an "X", but have you considered loosing the vynal top?

My dart was a vynal top car and I ditched it when it was painted. Also got rid of the drivers side fuel door on the rear quarter...nice clean look. Again...not sure you'd want to alter an "X" quite that much, it's a big decision but something to ponder....





Good choice staying with green as its a great color on an "X"...either one will work IMHO
