After reading a couple of threads here and other forums I decided I want to buy an Autel scanner. Features I want are Bi-directional, ABS brake bleeding, and advanced TPMS programing. We buy alot from Amazon so naturally I would look there. It is dizzying to see how many models there are of the 808 series and none of them are on the Autel site. An email to Autel asking if this stuff was supported didn't get me a direct responce only a ticket number and a promise they'd get back to me. That was days ago.
So what are these? Updated old stock? Chinese Knock-offs? Amazon isn't listed as an approved dealer source but walmart is. They carry a 900 series for under a grand maybe I should buy that.

What I have been looking at.

I'm curious to see what others say here. My scanner is 15 years old, and does a decent job, but they have all really come a long way. I also want the ability to actuate the ABS, but a word of caution: make sure the model you buy can trigger all models ABS. I almost bought one thinking it would be able to do so, turns out it worked only on gm's......

Depending on what you are using the scanner for make sure it does what you are buying it for. If you go to the manufactures web sites and want to know if X scanner will show you cam and crank signals most won't do it. If it's not listed it won't do it. I am looking for a Windows based program that will have the ability to show me both can and crank signals. This one doesn't have it but don't know if they offer extra pids to cover it. If anyone is using a Windows program for this please advise.

What exactly do you mean by cam and crank signals? If you're looking for waveforms you'll need a scanner with labscope functions.

Anyone looking for scanners should be looking at the price/availability of updates.I know everyone says "I just need to scan my 1999 whatever" Sooner or later you'll buy a newer vehicle or you'll want to scan something newer and you won't be able to. We've had major companies drop support for scanners after a few years. Frustrating.

Needed one that had ABS capability a few years ago and bought it off amazon. Its a legit Autel unit but had since been updated, improved and more expensive. They update them often, just search the model # and also youtube it, you should get guys from years back using it etc

(mine is Autel Maxilink ML619 CAN OBD2)

Just looked at your link - a lot of those look scammy. Make sure the seller is Autel or Autel authorized with good reviews

I just bumped up a recent thread on Garage Journal. It's a pretty good read.
