Poor lady must've hurt her left leg. She should get crutches; having to hop around like that.

BIN $100k. I'm still amazed at where prices have gone

Well, it's BIN, not Sold For...
I'd bet the honey costs more than the car, and...well, never mind...

The PLYMOUTH emblem on the leading edge of the hood - and across the stripe - is a nice touch.

Untouched wiper motor. Wrong master cylinder.
And a huge pet peave of mine.

2 dollar battery cable ends.
Really???

Asking top dollar...actually well above top dollar
And this kind of stuff screams shortcuts./ cheap..

Personally. And IMO only.

I'm not sure a single carb 1970 GTX can / will pull $100k.

The more one looks at the pics the more clear it becomes.... its not a restored car. It was what looks like an ok car with a decent repaint.

Not sure she could shove that 'pair' up any higher without causing bodily injury. Did they put the stripes on and then decide to align the doors after? Interior is a mess. Seat backs look like garbage. Rest of interior is not great. That is a lot of money for not a lot of car.

Never, ever argue with an IDIOT. They will drag you to their level and then beat you with their years of experience

I concur...there is a lot of shortcuts taken. The undercarriage is definitely a couple cans of black from Walmart.....

Says underwent a complete restoration? Rattle canned the trunk and underside and thats a complete restoration? How hard is it to use SEM products paint seat backs? I would be real worried about what is under that shiny paint.

Ended 1 bid 50k reserve not met? You mean they can't find some buddies to bid and artificially run the prices up?

It's a typical dealer car/ad

They had a car I liked, it did look well. I wanted to see if they’d come off the 20k they were too high on it before I ventured their way. They never answered the phone. Car sat there two full years. Bid to around my price a few times on eBay. Not sure what it went for when if finally sold. After 18 months they backed off 5k. Still took 6 more months to sell. Seeing stuff like that makes me question how a dealer really is making money.

Is it a tax shelter for a rich guys car collection that is only “for sale” because it has to be for the game the dealer is playing? You can run a loss for five years before you are considered a hobby that isn’t deductible. Of course I also witnessed a guy that had a serious drug operation that sold both late model and classic cars as a front when I was growing up.

SomeCar - That car wasprobably on consignment with the dealership, and they were collecting monthly rent on it.
That was the biz model for collector-car dealerships back in the '90s in NorCal; safe to assume it's typical.
So, consignor can price his car at whatever # he wants: dealership gets paid for their space & ad, and commission if/when the car sells.

I’ve heard of arrangements like that. I wouldn’t get involved in one as you lose the rights to your car when it’s consigned. I can’t imagine handing ownership of my property over to somebody for a couple years and not having a clue as to if they were going to bankrupt it out. That’s a long ass time to chance it. Some people in Florida just learned the hard way and yep, the dealer just changed the sign to a wedding venue and rolls on with your cash.

Before I bought my car.

I had made an offer on a 67 GTX at one of these big dealers in Texas. The car had been advertised off and on for nearly a year. ( red with white inter, 440 auto and working AC ) I had offered $32k on an $37k asking. rep seemed confident he could get it done.
( on a side note. the same GTX popped back up on a facebook sales page last year for $38, And I thought about it hard )

The salesman I talked to, Told me the car was a consignment piece. But said he would present the offer to the owner. And asked to give him a few days to try and get it done. But in the meantime, my Satellite came into the picture and even though I had to up my budget. I bought it instead. Talking the CFO into letting me up said budget took some creative finagling btw

My offer on said GTX was turned down after waiting over a week for the reply anyway. But by then, I was already going after the Satellite anyway.

There is a red with red inter 67 GTX at the Auto Mall in PA. A friend of mine made a fair offer on. And was promptly turned down.

He offered $50k on a $67K asking. And NO WAY will this car pull asking $$ https://www.classicautomall.com/vehicles/5927/1967-plymouth-gtx-hardtop
