Can someone with experience tell me, who makes the best molded front windshield gasket for a 1970 B body Mopar? By this I mean quality, ease of installation, good fitment, etc.
(Reason I ask here is, "everyone" seems to make the "best" gasket.Just ask them. lol)

Thanks!
Paul

Gotta make sure that when you have the windshield installed, that the glass shop puts butyl along bottom of opening and up the sides (about 6-8") BEFORE the rubber goes on and windshield into the rubber . . . any other way, guaranteed to leak !!! Don't let the glass shop tell you otherwise . . . that is way the factory did it and FSM says to install too !!!

To answer your question, not sure who I got for the 70 Sport Satellite . . .

Cheers

Mark

Thanks Mark! I recall now, my car had butyl sealant in the area you describe. Question... the butyl sealant is used between the windshield glass and gasket,

What seals the gasket to the body flange? Use butyl there too? I seem to remember sealant there too.

Sealant only between the gasket and the body, apply it along the entire bottom channel and approx 8-12" from the bottom of the A pillar channels upward in the A pillar channels, you only need a 1/4" bead in the 90 degree fold of the channel, apply this bead just before you set the gasket in place and install the windshield immediately, there's NO SEALANT in the gasket's groove/channel/lockbead where the glass fits

FYI if your looking for a good gasket that fits, Legendary is where I purchased mine over years, they were NOS units, I don't know if they still have NOS in supply, worth a try if your willing to spend a little more
