1970 Roadrunner Dash reverse light ground

Hello been a while since i been on here here's my Question the reverse dash light that goes into the plastic overlay on the dash what did the ground wire look like that fastened to the light bezel i can make a ground But.....I want to know what was the original ground looked like to make one or Buy one? the oval cut out in the dash frame does not contact the reverse light THANKS MOPARTS FOR THE AD and to all that can Help Dan

Doesn't the trans switch supply the ground?

the light that goes into the dash bezel is 1 wire so it has a power wire no ground this car was orig 3 spd so i put the hole in the dash in correct location and the correct harness for trans up to wiper motor even in wiring diagram shows a ground symbol but no details theres a 70 dash complete on ebay for sale shows reverse light just isnt clear enough to see what they used or did Thanks Dan

Had a 68 coronet here and reverse light was mounted to metal dash, so no extra ground was needed. Not sure about 1970's.

Behind the front plastic overlay is the dash metal frame, this provides the ground for the reverse lite by its mounting...

the dash opening is about 2 x 3 inch oval cut out init factory stamp

In 70 there are two wires that run to the light. One purple and the other black with a white trace.

I just checked this on my unrestored 70 GTX

They are relatively cheap on ebay. I'm redoing my GTX dash right now. Lots and lots of wires......

70HemiGTX do you have any pics of yours apart i can see ??? I have the dash light but mine doesn't or does any others have the ground wire on them everyone is missing the question LoL. I can make one but i want an orig ground

I can take a pic of mine later today. Are you looking for the lenght of the ground wire? It is probably about 6" long with a ring end on it for a screw to go through. mccanix's pic. is exactly like the back of mine.

roy, you can easily solder a ground wire to any metal socket if needed. i have also seen examples of ground wires attached to the outside barrel of the socket with a hose clamp. but i don't recommend that other than a temporary repair.

About 4 inches to the right of the steering column, there is a hole drilled through on the lower bottom edge lip of the dash frame. A clip with s screw is used for the ground wire. Here is a pic of the clip and screw. WINGNUT

Yes that's the ground screw and clip. Here is a pic of the light socket.

No, sorry. I need it for my dash. You can buy them new from Tony's parts and others online or on ebay.
