If the seat widths are in range and on the bench if the valves do not leak solvent from the ports past the valves into the combustion chamber is everything good? & what would some seat widths to shoot for be (EQ iron heads/short duration races). thank you for your time.

EQ heads BETTER have had bronze guide liners added or be pretty sloppy loose or you will hang a valve in the guide--they have so much meat and when it absorbs some heat--Look out!
But if your heads pass that age old test they are fine

Thanks bro, I'm thinking I had my shop check the fit of the Hughes 8MM valves & that it is going to be a raced only. I will speak with them on what they set em to.

These EQ heads are they the 360 magnum ones I read about? . Doing a father son project and picked up a 360 magnum . Do you like the quality of them? Haven't checked out this motor yet but did drive it for an hour home. Would it not shown problems of cracks? I hear this is the big problem with these heads. Any tips for building these motors please let me know. Thx

these are a new pair of genuine australian or new zealand primo EQ magnums from Eric Haugland in Las Vegas a licensed importer (AAmidwest iirc). On your deal reportedly some OE mags have cracks in between the valves but that they are still useable. I find that strange but I have heard it so many times that I wouldn't be afraid of em & I have an OE set from a 5.2 that I am gonna go thru & use on something.
