Showed me a picture of all of them after Pomona one year after they won. I remembered seeing the same picture in national dragster years ago too. Said he loved racing with him. Good to hear he is still kicking.

71birdJ68 master 7 Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 4,450 Morristown Tn.	When I was 21 in 1976, and was in tech school at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls Tx. I bought my Kawasaki Z1 900 from Eddie. I still have the bike and some of the paper work with his signature on it. He signed everything to make sure it was right.

I spoke to them several times at national events and they were always very nice down to earth people. It's great to see him still doing things he loves at 78.

None of that Superstar BS with him and given his resume you could forgive him if he did. Just a real cool laid back genuinely nice guy. What a track, it was a crumbling narrow 2 lane blacktop strip that was the runway for a Fishing Lodge. Eddie was a very nice person even back then. I was racing a 32 three window coupe with a 56 Chevy V8 in C/A. I was never any competition for him I was just the 2nd fastest car there. Good memories!!! BTW, he's not all that old he's only 2 yrs older than me.

Fuzzy and Jana Carter made the transition from water to asphalt with Eddie and Ercie, can't remember any of the other boat crewmembers moving over with them.
