Anyone have experience with RAS roller rockers. How is the quality, durability? Planning on building a hyd roller cam engine. Also looking at the comp ultra magnum Rockers.

RAS supposedly changed hands a few years ago and quality suffered. The set I have are from before then and are fine. Buddy bought a set after the ownership change and the shaft was a cheap piece of junk.

Are you asking about the stainless rockers from RAS? Are they still available?

The original RAS rocker arms are probably the best big block rocker arms ever made. No idea if they are still being made or not. I have one set of the originals that I run on my 470 engine. These things last forever. Stainless steel with a bronze bushing, excellent oiling design, great geometry, etc.

If RAS isn't interested in making them anymore I wish someone else would start producing them. Hint Hint to AndyF. I would probably buy them.

I just looked on their site (Rocker Arms Unlimited); the only new rocker arms they’re offering for Mopar is "Chrysler Hemi 331-392 cid Adjustable Rocker Arms". There must be a huge market for these. grin

I had a set of Isky Ductile Iron rocker arms rebuilt by them probably three years ago. At that time, one of the original owners, Gary, was who I dealt with. He did mention that they’d talked about making the wedge based rocker arms again but, it does not appear that happened-maybe it’s still in the works. Give them a call.

When they were still made and the price hadn't increased about 30%, they were great. Although I'd wished for years that I'd never sold mine, I don't run cylinder heads they'd work on today.

Last I recall when RAS did still make them, they were at -- or over -- $1000. Since I'd paid around $700 for them, that seemed like a HUGE price jump to me.

My $.02 for someone looking for a decent steel roller rocker is to check out the COMP Pro Magnums. Perhaps Andy can provide feedback on those, too, since IIRC he's tested them at some point. If it wasn't Andy, I'm pretty sure someone here has.

I have a set of 1.6 ratio that have been indestructible. Changing heads and wished I could still use them. Going to paired shaft t&d

I must of forgot about that price hike. At that price point I probably would not be interested.

I called them yesterday (Feb, 28th). They still manufacture the rockers. They have changed owners. Most of former employees are with new management. Price is currently on sale for $875. Regular price is $945. They are in stock. Ratio is 1.6:1. Comes with shafts, hold downs, spacers and hardware. Made from 17-4 billet stainless steel. See attachment. Tried to attach emailed flier. Had to attach file to reply. I hope this attachment is working for everyone.

They are high quality rockers, but I have to disagree that they have good geometry. I have a set of the 1.5 ratio, and they are no different in design geometry than most of the other shelf rockers out there, and they ain't good. I have to give them credit for offering them with a cup style adjuster at least. I'll be converting mine in the near future, just so I can get some use out of them again.
