I haven't been out in sometime with the car do to health issues, getting ready maybe this weekend but my helmet is snell 2005 will I be okay with that or do I need to buy a new one ? Was planning on getting a new one for next year but really did t want to spend the money if I don't have too... thanks guys John

I'd go with it the first time and hope they let you use it this first time as long you promise to show up with a new one next time.

Snell 2005 expired 1/1/2017. Depending on the track, they likely won't look at it, unless it's a beat up POS. I wouldn't forge a sticker. Good way to get thrown out if they catch it. Better to plead ignorance of expiration dates..

Is it a sanctioned track or an independent "outlaw" track? I've been to unsanctioned tracks where you could get by with an old time leather football helmet. Otherwise just pony up the money and get a new one. I had to do that earlier this year.

I ran at ATCO earlier this year, with my 2005 Snell and they said if I was running a $$$ class I couldn't,, but as I was only doing TNT runs it would be OK this year ,but not next year..They asked what times I ran and I showed them a time slip 11.77 .. from my last year....I went 11.38..then went home..Car is now up for sale .. with or with out motor..

Take them both
Let them see the older one first and if they give you grief take the other out and let them inspect it
if it is full face it will probably better, safer with a higher SFI rating, than the older one
