How do you get it to recover quicker to regain oil pressure

my accumulator is feed from my remote filter. when i'm on the brake n limiter its at full capacity. when i need it at the end of a run slowing down it's feeding the system nicely at the 40 psi set pressure. back on the return road it's filling back up again til i'm back in the pit where it drains down. i'm feeding mine with a -10 hose which seems to do its job perfectly.

How do you set it to 40 psi pressure? Are you saying when your oil pressure drops below 40 psi yours kicks in?

when empty i set the pressure at 40 psi with the tyre valve n guage thats connected. when the engine is hard on the transbrake limiter the oil system is up at 80 psi. it stays up there all the way to the finishline. when i'm braking the pressure drops but only down to 40 psi when the accumulator is now pressure feeding the system. before i fitted the accumulator it would drop right down to 15 psi which ok-ish since the engine is not under power, but i prefer it being no lower than 40 psi as oil is the life blood of a hipo engine. on the return road the hot oil is up about 55 psi. once shut off it takes about 8 secs to watch the oil pressure guage drop to zero.

Run at least a -8 line from the accumulator to the pressure side of the oil system. I use a ball valve for loading it for the next time I fire the motor cold. I tried an electric valve, but I couldn't get it to work properly.

you need to be more specific about how it's installed and how you're expecting it to operate. it can float with the line pressure (ball valve) or can be triggered with the electric valve which will trap higher pressure then dump into the system when the pressure drops below a certain point

It will only recover as fast as your oil pump will pump. If your engine is set up loose it will recover slower, light weight oil , small feed line , and where it's being fed from, all are a factor.

it's ok to butt heads, just don't do it with a butthead

So with no check valve (which I could not see), your set-up will back flush the oil filter/pre-screen when ever it activates?

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

yes i guess it probably would, but when we're finished racing for the day we shut the valve off so we have a fully loaded pressure charge to prelube the start on the next meeting. the screen in that filter is rather big & the only thing we've trapped so far are some bits of failed rocker arm. the pump doesn't seem to backflow that much. i'm sure most of it would be leaked down thru the bearings & such.

I can't tell if the Acumalator line on yours is fed off of the pressure side from the oil pump or if it is being fed off of the pressure side going to the block I have a 3 quart Moroso with a similar remote oil filter likes yours and I was thinking of using a AN T fitting in the line from the oil filter to the pressure feed line going back to the block I will use a check valve between the acumaltor and filter to keep oil pressure in the acumalator when sitting like you do

i use a 10 AN line fed from the same side that returns clean filtered oil on a 4 port oil remote. A manual ball valve is recommnded bu manufactures for all race versions. The electrics do not react fast enough. At shut down I increase RPM's and raise the presure efore closing the valve. As intended opening the valve prior to starts by prelubing will increase bearing life

We run the 3qt Moroso also with the remote 12 volt switch. We charge the air side to 90# and bleed it down to 6#.We tap into the engine side of the remote filters or into the pump cover plate(engine side). Some of the Indy plates have a fitting at the top.Once you prime the engine you can leave the valve open for the race day or shut it off and on.
