here's a pair of 1969 valve covers for a 273/318 2bbl engie (in original paint "turquoise") & a pair of 1969 valve covers for a 340 4bbl engine (incorrectly painted orange) the 340 has a taller bracket on the LH cover & a heat shield on the RH cover

wow I did not know that there was a difference between 318/340 valve covers. now that I know I will be on the look out for them. I have a pair of 1970 340 covers and after looking at them I noticed that the pass side cover has that heat shield. the drivers side has a different style of oil filler cap. my question is.... are the pass covers identical from 69/70 as they appear to be to me. always eager to learn more about our hobby. thanks for your help No, In 69 the PS valve cover only has the hole for the PCV, in 70 the PS cover has the holes for the oil fill cap and the push-in breather.
