This is a 68 Radio converted to I believe Pioneer.
I bought it years back and I am getting sound but not so great.
If anybody recognizes the harness leads please ID them.
I recall a vendor was converting AM to Pioneer based high Watt Super Tuners.

Red and Orange are on a Factory Plug for power and light.
I got it powered up and lit with ground through Chassis.

Grey and White sound pretty good together.
Blue and purple make noise but sketchy.

Could this be a common ground?

Brown does nothing.... for speakers

Thanks in advance.....

I have no idea who did your conversion , or what board they used , so this info may be useless to you , but we use the Antique Automobile Radio boards ,
like you see here ..and blue would be positive for one speaker and purple would be ground for that same speaker..then Grey would be positive for the other speaker and white would be ground for that speaker .
This may not apply to your particular radio , but that's how the boards from AAR are configured .

mmm usually modern speakers setups are white pair and gray pair for front speakers and green pair and purple pair for rears. On these pairs, the traced wire is negative.

Blue uses to be remote trigger ( powered antenna or amplifier )

black-ground, red-power ( acc ), yellow or orange-memory ( batt ).

as far I recall

That's an old conversion before they standardized the wire color.

Other than that, I offer nothing of value

Don't be the exception.

I just went out to the garage and pulled the Pioneer super tuner owners manual out of glove box. It was a conversion done in the 90’s.

The factory wire out of the radio were orange always hot,red switched hot, blue power antenna or power amp,green/red left front +, gray/red right front +,green left rear+,gray right rear +. There is only 1 black negative wire that is the ground for all speakers. And there is a separate black on the back of the radio that is the ground. My radio also has pre outs that can be used to connect a rear amp and if you use them you don’t hook up the green and gray rear speaker wires.
