Stupid question, but do I need any bearing grease in the axle tube housing where the green bearing sits? Or just make sure the o ring on the bearing has a little. And that's all? I'm talking about the space between the inner seal and the backing plate. Thanks

sealed bearing permanent lube. that said a little coating of grease on any bare metal will help slow down any rust and wont hurt anything.

correct. a little lube for the o-ring to slide in the cup.

I run my A-body 8 3/4 with out the inner seals. no leaks so far, been 7 yrs with plenty of R&R for gear swaps.

I do run the inner seals in the truck 8 3/4 with M-400/greens. but had them on hand when I installed them.

I also run a 489-SG with the thrust block in place and a 742-open with out the thrust block.

no endplay adjustment
