In the process of puttin in a electric fuel pump and getting rid of the stock manual one in a big block 440.Do i need to leave fuel pump push rod in when i cover the hole up the with a fuel block off plate and gasket?

You don't have to remove it but it is no longer necessary.

It will do nothing as said.It will just slide down and rest on the plug in the block.Wont move once it does.Rocky
