Good day to all,

What head gaskets should i order for mounting the MP aluminium heads? Are they the same as the iron head gaskets ?

About the bolts, will i need a 12 points set or will the six points work well? Is any special material required?

Thanks a lot for any input.

really, any gasket should be fine (Although I wouldn't use a copper shim alone on anything). I've heard from some that a steel shim gasket isn't advisable, but Ive never seen anyone having problems with them first hand. I've used them on iron heads with no issues.

6 points would be fine. That's what I'm using.

12 points do give better conatct with the tool though.

A good quality composition gasket works well, Felpro 1009 or "permatorque" if compression ratio isn't too high. These two gaskets have compressed thickness around .040 which provides ideal quench if the pistons are zero deck. The head bolts will need washers and bolt length adjusted accordingly. I'd suggest a bolt + washer kit from the same supplier as the head.

Hi,thanks for the replies,

It is a 440 engine,it had the 906 heads(87cc) and flat top pistons,i want to mount the aluminium 84 cc heads keeping the pistons so it is not going to be a very high compression engine.
