I have a pair of disc brake rotors from a 73 Dart, they have surface rust on them from sitting, I was going to take them and have the bead blasted clean and then machined (turned). The thickness on them is .988" Does anyone know what they measure new? and what the minimum should be? Are these worth saving? Thanks!

Don't know the typical thickness new.

Don't know positively the minimum, but I believe it to be .970"

There is a high probability that the minimum is cast into the hub somewhere under your rust...

Down to just a blue car now.

Thanks for the info, actually I just looked at the autozone.com website and they list it all, the Nominal thickness is 1.010", the Minimal is .970", and the Discard thickness is .940" Looks like I am good to go! Appreciate the response though..:)

Bead blast them and run them. I don't cut rotors unless I absolutely have to.
