I'm trying to work out the bugs on my T/A, so I can drive it to the Nats. (13 hours) Last nite on yet another trial run, my headlights started flashing when on high beams (and only after a few minutes on) when I kicked the switch down to low beams- it stopped. Waited a bit, went back to high beams, and they were fine again for a while, then started flashing again. I am assuming that either the foot switch is bad and getting hot, or the switch on the dash is taking a crap. I'll be needing my headlights for the trip- so I need to figure this one out. Any ideas? Thanks guys! Kirby

There's bi-metal safety-swtich inside the light-switch itself which disconnects when the switch gets too hot.

Best solution is to rewire your headlights with a relay.
In short, use your light-switch the control the relay and let the relay switch the power to your headlights.

I had a situation like this once, drove me nuts and I dropped a buttload of money electrical parts trying to fix it. In the end it was the one of the headlamps itself was shorting on the inside somehow causing the relay to overheat and the lights to blink on and off, replaced the lamp and havent had the problem since. I'd try this first.

FYI I just replaced the foot switch- so it SHOULD be good- could be a bad one though, anythings possible. Any other ideas? Kirby

I agree with the headlight switch internal breaker. Replace the switch and put the high on low beams on their own relays. You should never have any more troubles with blinking and the lights will be brighter.
