What will a high stall (2300-2700) converter do with a basically stock 318 roller cam motor? (stock roller cam, Edelbrock performer RPM, swirl port heads with intake ports matched. and a 600 holley.)

I run a stock HS-LU in my a999/904 tranz with the voodoo roller cam

same stock HS-LU unit that was on the stock roller engine combo

works good in my daily driver, lets the 318 move out of it own way compaird to the LS-LU I had in the other 904 tranz

but i think its more like 1800-2200

you looking at aftermarket TC?

seems a little high for a stock 318 roller cam profile, more toward a 360 engine

It doesn't specify the stall speed just has "145K High stall" on it. I just assumed 2300 +.

think that what mine rated at

I get a new reman TC from the local tranz shop for 120$

I use the stock HS unit for a mid 80s 318 car

i throw a new one in with every used tranny swap I do,most of mine come with low stall TC in the trucks at the pick n pull

with a under powerd smog 318 its night and day on the "pep" it give it

The older factory service manuals list the stall speeds of many engine/trans combinations. The stall speed you state doesn't sould too far off the mark for a stock application.
