Not knowing your complete set up, I'd have to guess that the side cover lever is loose for first and second gear. Just a guess based on past experiences.


4 speed street legal. Best time 10.99 @ 124 mph on 93 octane pump gas @ 3926# total weight

Jamie Passon certainly deserves his great reputation. He responded very quickly to an email I sent him. He said it's the linkage, and he'll even take a look at it at the Nats.

I just spoke with the guy who did my 4 speed conversion. He said it could also be that he overtightened the 2 screws that connect the Hurst mechanism to the aluminum piece on the transmission.

He likes to really tighten those 2 bolts because of past experience with a 4 speed on his old 70 Road Runner. The bolts were too loose, and the holes had to be helicoiled after too much spirited shifting.
