Is there an inexpensive alternative for this, like a later model plastic shroud? Doesn't need to be the spendy sorrect piece. Doesn't necessarily even need to be a Mopar part. Anyone know what works? I can fab brackets to adapt to my $300+ radiator. '64 B body getting RB transplant. Never gets hot with the Poly, but my '63 with an RB needed a shroud. Both have recored +1 row radiators.
Thanks in advance!

Seems like you might be the first one to try a trial-and-error approach with junkyard plastic shrouds.

Did you see 'Feets' thread on this topic? I assume it was about 26" radiators.

Yeah, maybe so.
Seems I just need to measure where the center of the fan is in relation to the radiator (it's offset) and then get a look at a collection of fan shrouds.
The shroud needs to be pretty shallow.
If there's any interest in this, I'll post the measurements, and if I can find something that works, post that too.

You could probably use one of the repo shrouds for a 69 RR with a 22" rad. Make your own brackets or buy theirs. Not cheap but less than the the two piece metal ones.

I measured the fan location & the correct shroud on my '63 (B-body, 440 transplant, 22" correct radiator); same radiator is in my '64.
Center of fan is 9.5" from top of rad core/bottom of top tank, and 12" from the driver-side radiator edge.
The early B shroud's fan opening is offset 3" from the driver side, measured from radiator's left edge to the fan opening; the opening is basically flush with the right side of the radiator.
Hopefully I can find a JY shroud with these dimensions that's common enough to be cheap. I'll post an update if I get lucky with that.

I used a 26" radiator in a 22" opening and settled on a Mercedes electric fan.

Since my car was not a restoration I could take liberties that others may not care to copy.

I replaced the rad on My 67 B body with an aftermarket 26 inch alum rad. (also did My 69 Bee) I set the new rad on the drivers side mounting bolts, leveled and drilled holes through the support on the passenger side. Installed a 70 roadrunner shroud and it fit perfect.

The rads I used had auto tranny coolers as part of them, like stock, they were from CHAMPION rads in Calif and can now be bought for less than 200. Mine are 2; one inch rows...aluminum....had one for 4 seasons so far, other for 2. Can't say enough nice things about them.

tranny lines almost matched perfect...just had to bend them a tad...

so...if you go this way, a shroud can be had for around a hundred bucks or less IF you are patient and shake the bushes alot. On the Bee...I didn't need a shroud,it cools fine....the 67 has a hotter setup

When I put a 360 in my 65 Coronet I used a shroud from a slant 6 Aspen. They are both 22" and offset. However, the Aspen was offset the other way. No problem, I mounted the shroud upside down. I cut off the "Caution" tab as it was now on the bottom. Cost me $10 and I am using it now on my 440 in the Coronet.

Good luck.

Thanks, nd65, that narrows down the search!
I'm off to the JY this morning and will post what I find out there.

I have a 22" slant six a-body I would sell. I set it on top of a metal shroud and it looks like it would work.
