looks like your sucking some oil from the intake runners.
Or valve guides/seals.......
I noticed i am getting some slight engine oil puddling in the valley of the intake as well.

agree definitely burning oil...those crusties sound fun if they come off and bounce around inside the cylinder.
my truck burns massive amounts of oil, every now and again a piece of the burn build of comes off and the motor tics like a banshee, eventually the noise goes away, and i just change/clean the plugs ever few thousand miles.

Stu, make sure you sealed the threads of the intake bolts with some RTV. Oil can seep up through the threads. And yes it does look like a little oil burning.
That intake nas been untouched for 10 years so maybe it's time for some new gaskets??
