These are in order facing the engine. They have about 500 miles on them since new. So what can you tell me as some look fine and some are pretty gunked up. I run only Chevron 91 octane super by the way.

I am going to clean them up and reuse.

Check out these pics to compare. Looks like oil fouling and some heavy deposits on several.

agree definitely burning oil...those crusties sound fun if they come off and bounce around inside the cylinder.

my truck burns massive amounts of oil, every now and again a piece of the burn build of comes off and the motor tics like a banshee, eventually the noise goes away, and i just change/clean the plugs ever few thousand miles.

I had a vacuum leak that took for ever to find. It turned out that the inatke gasket hadnt sealed and the leak was between the gasket and the head, sucking air/oil from inside the motor.

Valley pan gasket/runners leaking. Needs to be redone.

Stu, make sure you sealed the threads of the intake bolts with some RTV. Oil can seep up through the threads. And yes it does look like a little oil burning.

Yess i do some oil like maybe a pint every 500 mies or so. Well then next on the list i will go for the valley pan gasket set i guess as that's pretty easy to do.

That intake nas been untouched for 10 years so maybe it's time for some new gaskets??
