Hi Guys,

Another request from a "non" electrical guy for help. I am just putting back together a 70 cuda. I have all of my lights working (I think) when I turn on the headlights (headlights, taillights, side marker lights) All seem fairly bright. Now the problem, when I turn on the right blinker the inside right blinker will blink (fairly quickly) but the front turn signal does not light and the rear is nice and bright. When I turn on the left signal both the interior lights are very dim and nothing is on outside of the car. The four-ways all work but the right rear is the only one that is bright.

I have read the postings recently talking about bad grounds....Where is this circuit grounded at?? The rear lights just plug in to the taillights but i do not see an external ground wire anywhere in the system. HELP!!

Thanks in advance

One thing to check, make sure you don't have the front turn signal wires plugged into the side marker lights. There color coded but I misssed that on one side one time and my signals wouldn't work right.

The only grounds I can think of are on the rad support right next to the battery. The front turn signals are grounded through the housings. So the front valance needs to be bolted on secure.

I do not like wiring but I do know on my 70 there are grounding wires that clip to each front marker. Not sure if this helps but it may because it does sound like a ground issue to me as I have had same kinda probs after resto as stated WIRING SUCKS

Thanks for the notes.

For my turn signals they have a short 4 wire plug on them and are black, the marker lights have a 3 wire plug on them and are yellow. It doesn't look like I can put the black ones on the marker lights because they would not reach. By the way the engine and rear harnesses are new from Bill Evans so I am not to worried about any breaks but there does not seem to be any grounding wires other than the main one going to the same place as the neg from the battery.

Are the light plugs (tail and other) suppose to ground to the light housings simply by installing them? These are new and they fit into the housing very tightly....any other thoughts???

I went back and looked at all of my bulbs and found one in the taillight had one of the filaments burned out. I replaced it and put in a heavy duty flasher and everything seems to work. It just goes to show that new bulbs is a great thing to start with when troubleshooting electrical/light issues!! Thanks for the help!!!

FYI....Bill Evans sent me an email stating that there is a ground wire that runs from the left side marker light through the taillight and end on the trunk lock cover. i do not have this and tried using jumpers to create what he was talking about but it did not seem to make a difference but still great info.

Thanks again!!
