one of them... this is a street/strip thing with more
street than strip... it'll only run 10.1 or so...
so I want a stereo and semi quiet... you know with
exhaust and all that junk

The Home Depot stuff may help a little as a sound deadiner.. but I think the carpet does more.. and as far as acting as a heat barrier.. forgetaboutit... Last summer my shoes were roasting after an hour long drive..

And I didn't think the price was outrageous either.
If you look away from stuff that is marketed strictly as " automotive " and especially " high performance " , you can often find similar products for cheaper prices.
I use the McMaster-Carr catalog and the sheer volume of supplies they have is amazing.
But back when header wrap was in vogue , I bought and used some pipe insulation from them that worked great and was about 1/2 price.
Think of them as the corner hardware store on steroids.

pretty darn good... I was in his truck for over a
1000 miles in a week and it was not bad at all...
I think I will look at that first

Sorry my picture didn't load right away Mr P ! Stupid dial-up anyway.  I wouldn't even think about trying to load a link. But it's called Reflectix. You can get it in 24" wide by 25' long rolls or 48" wide by 25' long.
It seems to work good for me and it helps hide the welded in frame rail connectors. Can't tell they are in there with the carpet installed. As far as keeping the heat out I just put the top down if it gets to warm.
